Hey! I'm actually completing this linky party on the right day! ;)

1. If you had to choose, how would you prefer to spend money.. on a pool or on landscaping? DEFINITELY landscaping!!! I wouldn't want to clean said pool, and I know that I would be too lazy to keep up with the chemical routine for it, so bring on the pretty yard! I would love to have a perennial garden, and pretty sculpted beds around our home.. right now it's just mulch & hostas, which pretty much take care of themselves :)

2. Death penalty, yay or nay? You know.. I don't know. I think that there are some horrible crimes being committed out there, and sometimes don't feel it is punishment enough to have the criminal just sit in jail the rest of their lives.. you know? 

3. What is the worst thing you child has gotten into when you turned your back/blogged/showered/blinked? I think Aidan was 2 or so, and I was not feeling well that day.. 

I got up to go to the bathroom, accidentally leaving a bottle of Pepto-Bismol on the table.. Aidan opened the bottle & completely dumped out the contents all over the floor.. 

even after stem cleaning, there's still a pink hue to the carpet! 

4. How often do you REALLY go to the dentist? I go once a year.. & only after my mom bugs me ;)

5. What is your favorite animal? Donkeys!!! I have no idea why I love donkeys so much..

5QF.. Saturday night!

So.. I haven't participated in this for awhile! 

Tony is busy watching basketball & I am here bored..
so here's some random questions that I will answer just for you ;)

1. Have you ever had roommates? Just while I was in college. I roomed with my step-sister Lisa for 2 years while I was up at Central Michigan University. We also had other girls in the dorm room with us, 4 of us altogether my freshman year, and 5 of us my sophomore year. It was definitely a learning experience for me.. I was used to living with Lisa.. but when you throw a bunch of girls in a room together.. with ONE bathroom.. and ONE phone.. things get kinda interesting! 

(I think I used to hog the phone & bathroom too, sorry!) 

2. How many names do you/your children have? Just the standard first, middle & last.

3. Did you watch the Royal Wedding? Nope! But, I have to admit, once I got up the next day & was bombarded by pictures & footage on the internet.. I was sucked in! I had to check out all of the details, watch the footage of the ceremony & I even printed out a recipe of Prince William's groom's cake.. it looks like it would be delicious!

4. What is the messiest room in your house? Ugh.. I would have to say the bathroom. Aidan uses the toilet now, and well.. he doesn't always have the best aim! Although I am constantly cleaning up the floor in there.. it seems like it never stays clean! :(

5. What is your ideal Mother's Day? Honestly? I just want to sleep in, read the Sunday paper, go to church & come home to more time to myself! I would love to throw a nap in there somewhere too!

1. Would you rather be on ABC's Extreme Home Makeover or TLC's What Not To Wear? I'd definitely have to say Extreme Home Makeover. I rarely watch that show, but the ones I have seen are amazing.. turning the home into something absolutely different than before..

 yep, they can come to my house ANYTIME they want! :)

2. Do you have any tattoos? Yep, I have two. And I HATE them! If I could go back & change things, I would have never gotten them. I think that I was trying to be cool or something, and since I was finally old enough, 

it seemed like a bright idea to get them.. ugh. 

Anyways, I have a sun on my lower back & a ring of stars/stardust 

around my right ankle bone.

3. Do you tell your kids about things you did growing up? We haven't gotten that far on our parenting journey yet.. but I think that I would like to be as honest as possible with Aidan if he asks!  

4. If the traffic signal turns yellow, do you stop or speed up? If I'm in a hurry, I would definitely speed up!

5. What's your preference: chocolate or chips? 100% Chocolate.. how about chocolate chips? Yummmm :)

5 Question Sunday!

It’s been a lazy kinda Sunday around here today.. Tony & I are starting to feel yucky again, hoping that our colds don’t make a reappearance! Ugh.. we hate getting sick!

Anyways, I have had enough energy to sit around & check out my favorite blogs!

Here’s my answers from 5QF.. on Sunday!

1. What is your current favorite book, and why? I am reading 1984 right now, and struggling through it.. so it is definitely NOT a current favorite.. but I do have a favorite that I can read & re-read, it’s White Oleander by Janet Fitch.

I LOVE this book.

So.. if you ever have the chance to read it, do so! I couldn’t put the thing down!

2. Do you go to the dentist regularly? Well, no. I go once a year. I know,, I am supposed to go every 6 months.. but I feel that I don’t need to, and I will tell you why!.. I brush twice a day, sometimes three, I floss AND I have never had any cavities.. so, I go once a year.

Now, for our son, he will go twice a year! :)

3. What is your worst memory from High School? Ugh.. the constant pressure to fit in, and I have NO idea why I cared so much what people thought of me.. yep, I would have to say the need for acceptance & to fit in with everyone.

4. What do you hope to be remembered for in your life? I want to be remembered as a loving wife, mother.. and grandmother! I try to go out of my way to be helpful to people, and I hope that it has left an impact on someone!

5. Are you superstitious or do you have any superstitions? This is kind of embarrassing, and Tony LOVES to tease me about it, but I HATE odd numbers. For instance, the TV volume is always on an even number, the car radio volume is on an even number.. if it can be set on an even number around here, it always is.. and Tony likes to ‘change’ it on me periodically!

I don’t think that I need therapy yet.. I seem to be functioning alright so far!!!

1. How long does your Christmas tree stay up? Well, it’s New Year’s Eve.. and it’s still up! Actually, I plan on packing up all of our Christmas things up this weekend!

2. Do you have plans for New Year’s Eve? Yep, I am making this for dinner.. renting a few movies from Redbox & staying home with my little family! Grammie & Grampie are coming over for dinner & a movie too! :)

3. Do you have any New Year’s resolutions? Why yes, I do! I would like to try to eat healthier, as I have eaten a bunch of junk over the past few months, and it has made me feel quite crappy.. as well as gain quite a bit of weight! I would also like to continue to get organized. I have been cleaning out & getting rid of a bunch of stuff this past month, and it has felt wonderful.. especially since it was all just taking up extra space!

4. How did you spend New Year’s Eve when you were younger? I had to think a long time about this one. when I was a teenager, I have NO idea what I did. I am guessing that it wasn’t that exciting, since I don’t remember! When I was younger, I used to stay up & watch the ball drop on TV, or fall asleep attempting to!

5. What was the best way you‘ve ever spent New Year’s Eve? Well, we usually go out for New Year’s with a bunch of friends.. but we are staying home this year & I am going to say that tonight is going to be my favorite New Year’s Eve.. being with my family, staying home sounds perfect to me!

I can hardly believe that I am posting this on the correct day.. isn't it amazing??? :)

Here we go!

1. Do you regift? And if so.. do you have a re-gifting horror story? Nope, never have re-gifted.. so, no bad stories from me! 

2. Do you know what you are getting for Christmas this year? Nope, I have no clue! Tony usually asks for a list from me, but he waits until the last minute to go shopping!

3. Who brings the most gifts in your family, you or Santa? I would have to say Santa. Usually, we limit the amount spent on eachother & Santa goes a bit overboard sometimes!

4. What store do you love to buy jeans from? Kohl's. I have absolutely NO time to go to the mall to browse around for jeans, and Kohl's has the Levi's that I love, and I can get in & out of there without crying! .. because jean shopping is just SO much fun!.. yeah right!

5. Christmas meal: Big, All Out Meal, or Snacks & Apps? Well, it depends.. at my Dad's we always have a big sit-down meal. At my Mom's, we have a more casual dinner, usually something simple & lots of snacky foods. At Tony's sister's get-together, we have a big meal, that also has snacks.. and I feel like a big fat pig after I leave there, but I LOVE the food!!! :)

Oops, here's 5QF on Saturday for ya! 

1. Do you open presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? Well, we are starting a NEW tradition for our little family this year.. we going to start opening one gift on Christmas Eve, and it is going to be an age appropriate game for Aidan, that we can all play together that night as a family. (We picked Cootie as our game this year!)

Other than that, we tear all the presents open first thing Christmas morning! :)

2. What is your favorite Christmas cookie or candy? How about all of it?? If I'd have to choose, it would be these..

..it is called Kifli, and it is a Hungarian recipe that Tony's grandmother used to make, which his sister Linda makes for the family every year during Christmastime.. it is delicious!

I LOVE the walnut (dios) and prune (lekvar) flavored ones!

3. What is the worst Christmas present you have ever received? Hmm, I have NO idea. I am sure that I got some things that I didn't want when I was younger, and less thankful for stuff!

4. Christmas song that you love? I LOVE the song "Silent Night, so this year, it's this one:

5. How many trees do you put up? If you've ever been to our home, you'd know that there's only room for one tree, and it's a skinny space-saving one! ..and I'm perfectly happy with that! :)

Wow, it's been quite a long time since I have participated in this! Here's for those of you that need some "Theresa-knowledge!"

1. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you? I'd have to say recovering from my c-section. I am a horrible baby when it comes to pain.

2. How much sleep do you get at night? I usually get about 6-7 hours of sleep, 

but I am trying to train myself to get to bed earlier!

3. How long did you believe in Santa Claus? How did you find out that he does not exist? I believed in Santa for quite awhile.. maybe til I was 8? I found out that Santa was make-believe when my friend Michelle & I were rummaging through her mom's desk for something & found all of the letters that she wrote to Santa over the years.. along with her baby teeth!!! ...no Tooth Fairy either! It was a bad day for the both of us kids! :)

4. What was the last movie you saw in a theater? Saw this on a whim with the other mommies from my MOPS steering team, it was actually pretty cute! :)

5. What do you wear to bed? I wear a t-shirt & comfy pants or capris.. 

nothing fancy here!

5 Question Friday!

Technically, it's Friday.. but it's almost 2 am & I'm still not in bed! I guess I'm a a little excited about going on vacation with my hubby tomorrow.. we're going to Mexico! Puerto Vallarta to be exact.. 6 days away from our munchkin & I don't know if I should be sad or excited.. I guess I'm a bit of both. I am gonna miss that little boy!!! :(

Here's some 5QF for ya, I haven't participated in awhile cuz the questions have been sorta lacking.. but this week they are decent again! Here we go..

1. What do you listen to while driving? Ever heard of these guys? 

 They're only Aidan's absolute favorite ever! I swear, I can't get this music out of my head.. ever. Ugh.

2. What's your least favorite thing about fall? Raking leaves.

3. What does your dream house look like, inside & out? Honestly, my dream house is anywhere Tony & Aidan are.. ( I know.. corny!!) ..but I do really like our home. I just wish we had the money right now to update it, especially the kitchen! Oooh, and some extra storage space would be nice, and a wrap-around deck out front too!

4. Would you ever own a minivan? Funny story: Tony & I recently went car shopping, and were really open to the idea of a mini van.. until we sat in one to test drive it! I got in the drivers seat & had a mommy freak out moment.. not ready to convert to the mini van mommy yet! :) 

We ended up loving & buying a Chrysler Pacifica.. has just the amount of room we need!

5. Do you wash new clothes before wearing them? Yep. I think I may have worn a pair of jeans once without washing them though, but I hate how "stiff" new clothes feel, they have to be washed first!

1. Do you feel guilty spending money on yourself? Yeah, sometimes I do.. especially if the purchase is unnecessary!

2. How well do you know your neighbors? Our only neighbors are across the street from us, so we don't see each other that regularly.. but we do chat about once a month or so! It is always nice to catch up with them though. :)

3. What age are you looking forward to being? I think I am already at the age that I was looking forward to being. I have a wonderful family & son, both of my parents are alive & well.. and life is good! If I sit & think about getting older for too long.. I get sad, knowing that my parents will eventually pass away, that Aidan WILL grow up & not be my baby anymore and I will get pretty old & wrinkly too! :)

4. Do you get excited when the mail comes? I love to get mail! So yeah, I get excited. Although, I do subscribe to WAY too many magazines!

5. What is your earliest childhood memory? Picking blackberries (?) with my mom at our old white house.. I think I was 2??

I can't believe it's September already! I am quite happy about it though.. I have the widows open & can feel the nice cool breeze.. finally!

Here's this week's Five Question Friday:

1. What do you do when you have time to yourself? Honestly? I do absolutely nothing. I like to just sit & do nothing sometimes.. I read a book or magazine, or sometimes even take a nap too :)

2. When you look out your kitchen window, what do you see? I see our backyard.. Aidan's playhouse & sandbox.. and our huge black walnut tree that Aidan has been fascinated with lately.. it's fun for him to throw the walnuts everywhere :)

3. Who/what would you want to be reincarnated as? While I don't believe in reincarnation, this is for fun, so.. remember how I said I like to do nothing?.. I would be a perfect cat! Sleep, eat, repeat.. yep, I can handle that. 

4. What is your biggest pet peeve about other people's kids? I cannot stand to see a child disrespect their parents.. especially in public.

5. Regular or Diet soda? Honestly, I don't care.. I just love carbonation, so I'll take any kind!

1. Do you have any nicknames, and if so.. how did they come about? Yep, when my best friend's son was little, he couldn't pronounce my name, so he called me "Teeha".. he is 10 now, and still calls me that, and I love it :)

2. What is the birth order amongst your siblings? I am technically an only child.. but my Dad & my step-mom had my half sister Sarah in 1981.. so I would be the oldest! Sadly, we lost her in 2003.. so I'm back to being an only!

3. In a movie of your life, who would play your significant other? I hate questions like this.. although there is absolutely NO similarity, I am going to say Jeff Goldblum, only because it would make my hubby so mad, he HATES him! hee hee :)

4. What is currently your favorite song? Oh boy, this is embarrassing. I can't stand Adam Lambert, but when I first heard this song, I wanted to get up & dance!
I LOVE this song, and when it's on the radio.. Aidan will get super mad at me for dancing behind the wheel.. apparently he doesn't like people dancing or singing while he is riding in the car!



5. Are you saving money for anything right now, big or small purchase? My hubby was informed a few weeks ago that he earned a free trip to Mexico for the both of us in October through his job.. so we are saving money for that, so we can do some extra fun stuff together while we're down there!
Who knows if we'll be able to vacation like that for awhile, especially without Aidan! :)

Another week has gone by, where in the heck does the time go??

I am so excited for this Sunday, as we are leaving for a week-long vacation! We'll be going to up north to Glen Arbor.. and I am excited to finally take Aidan to a real beach! :)

I haven't forgotten about it, so here's this week's questions!


1. Did you have a favorite toy or blanket as a kid? If so, do you still have it? Yep, I still have them.. they are my Thundercats action figures from the 80's.. and I remember playing with them all the time when I was little!
Watching the cartoon was my favorite thing to do too!

I have no idea why I kept them.. but I was rearranging things in a closet about a year ago & Aidan was peeking through the boxes..
once he saw them, he had to have them!


Funny thing is, (man, I am a geek!) I also have the old cartoon series on DVD, and Aidan LOVES to watch it! Sometimes, he'll randomly run through the house screaming, "Thundercats.. Ho!!!" :)

2. Do you dream in color? I don't think so..
I hardly ever remember my dreams if I have them anyways.

3. How tall are you? Do you wish you were shorter or taller? I am 5'3"
.. and I love it, not too short, not too tall!

4. If you could have anyone's voice (celeb or other) as the guide on your GPS, who would it be? GPS?? Um, yeah.. I have not evolved that far yet.

5. Do you return your cart to the corral or leave it wherever in the parking lot? I always return it to the corral, I hate it when people leave it wherever.. and I always see carts rolling free in the parking lot, looking for cars to hit :(

1. What were your school colors? I went to Parchment, so mine were maroon & gold.. BUT they have changed over the years,
and are now maroon & white.

2. What's the best compliment you have ever received?
I remember this so vividly, because it completely made my day!
Back in 2004 or so.. it was late one night & I rushed to the store for
milk for the next morning. As I was leaving the store,
a guy came up to me & said "I don't want to freak you out or anything,
but I just wanted you to know that you have such amazing natural beauty."I was practically in my pajamas & my hair was all messy..
so I left the store with a huge smile on my face :)

3. Do you buy cheap or expensive toilet paper?
I have tried cheap,
and I will never go back to purchasing it again!

4. Have you ever had a surprise party thrown for you?
Why yes, I have!
I never thought that anyone would go to the trouble of planning a
surprise for me, but my mom did for my 30th birthday.
She surprised me with a pedicure party.. thanks mom! :)


5. What is one material possession that you can't live without?

Right now, I would have to say it's my iPod.. I love this thing,
love all the apps & all that nerdy stuff.
I love that I can check my email & roam around on the internet on it,
without leaving my favorite chair in the living room too!

It's been awhile, but I am ready today! Here we go!


1. Do you collect anything? Why yes, I do!
Well, I did.. before we had Aidan.
To seal the deal on me being a complete geek.. I collect stamps.
Not just any stamps, they have to be U.S. stamps, in mint condition..
never been mailed!

I have a ton of United States stamps,
going all the way back to the early 1900's..and I love them.
It's like a little piece of artwork to me,
and I hope to get back into collecting again someday.

The stamps below are my favorite mint set that I have,
it's called Flags 24/7.
The artist painted the same flag at different times of the day,
I think they're gorgeous! :)


2. Name 3 celebrities that you find good looking.

1. Jake Gyllenhaal.. c'mon, look at him, he's beautiful!


2. Edward Norton.. I love Edward Norton :)


3. Taylor Lautner.. I know this guy's kinda young,
but I think he is going to be a hugely successful actor..
not to mention, he is adorable, and in the Twilight movies :)


3. Do you have any scars? If so, what's the story behind them? The only one I can think of is my c-section scar..
and that's from (duh) Aidan.

4. What is a food you like to eat, but others may think is gross or weird?

Gerber meat sticks.
I could eat these for days!
I have NO idea what turned me on to them,
but my friend Michelle & I would eat these up all the time!

5. Have you ever seen a tornado in real life? Nope..
but I do remember hiding under a dining room table with my Grandma
during the big Kalamazoo tornado of 1980! :)

1. What do you think makes a good friend, or friendship? Someone that I can be 100 % MYSELF around.. that I can confide in & trust, that gets my sense of humor & can be goofy around.. love you Michelle!! :)

2. What is the last thing you bought & later regretted? Oh man, I had an impulse buy a few days ago & am now regretting it..shoulda just saved the money!
I bought an iPod Touch.. do I need it? NO. Do I want it?.. YES!
I can't wait for the UPS guy to deliver it! :)

3. Have you ever had a prank played on you? Nope & let's hope it stays that way!

4. What is your favorite theme park? I've only been once, but I LOVE Walt Disney World. The Magic Kingdom is.. well, magical & I hope that we can someday take Aidan!

5. Have you ever seen someone else give birth? Yep.. I watched my friend Shannon give birth to her daughter Mackenzie.. I was only 20, and nowhere near wanting any kids yet.. so it was interesting! :)

So.. I haven't participated in 5QF for the past 2 weeks..
I have been lazy, what can I say!? :)

Here's to trying to stick with it again!

1. If you could go back to college, would you change your major? Or, if you were to go to college, what major would you choose? Oh, man.. I wish I could redo my whole college experience! My major was graphic design, and I definitely would have continued to pursue that if I had finished..sadly, I chose the partying route, and only stayed in school for 2 years. I would love to go back one day & get a degree though! :)

2. What do you love most about your home? I absolutely love the fact that we are living in the house that Tony grew up in. I know that it is on the small side.. but we are so comfortable here!

3. What type of books do you like to read? I love a good fiction book, but I mostly find myself reading non-fiction. I love to learn about anything & everything that I can.. especially parenting books at the moment..
potty training is in our very near future!

4. What is the grossest thing you have ever eaten? Grits, hands down.

5. If you had to be a character on a TV show, whom would you be? Seriously? I have no clue.. I don't watch that much TV anymore. Well, I do watch toddler TV sometimes.. I guess if I had to choose amongst those characters, I would be Toot from Toot & Puddle..
that little pig gets to travel to so many awesome places! :)

Yep.. I'm late, again. Better late than never! :)

1. Take your pick.. date night, girls night out, or night out alone? Definitely a date night. I would much rather spend quality time with Tony than go out without him or by myself!

2. Can you touch your nose with your tongue? Nope.

3. What is your favorite flower & why? Foxglove.. aren't they beautiful? Why?.. because they are gorgeous!


4. If you could go back in time, what advice would you give yourself? Do NOT care what other people think.. those who mind don't matter & those who matter don't mind!

5. If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do? I would probably faint, or call Tony.. or maybe call Tony & then faint! :)

1. If you could, would you go back to high school? Um, no. I don't think that anyone wants to revisit that weird adolescent time.. at least I don't want to! :)

2. If a genie appeared & granted you two wishes.. what would they be? (and, no saying "more wishes!") Let's see.. first, I would wish for enough money to pay off all of our debt, my family's debt.. and friends too! Debt really stinks, and I will be SO happy to be completely debt free.. someday! Second, I would wish for.. a bigger house! I LOVE living in Tony's childhood home, but I have NO idea how 8 kids fit under this roof.. just to have some extra closet space or another bathroom would be heavenly!

3. What kids show do you secretly like? Ugh.. this is embarrassing, but I LOVE iCarly!
I also have a secret crush on Spencer too. :)

4. What is your beverage of choice? Non-alcoholic: a sugar free vanilla iced coffee from McDonald's..
alcoholic: Captain & Ginger :)

5. What is something that you would change about yourself, or are working to change about yourself? I am trying to eat more sensibly & exercise daily.. it is so hard! I hate to exercise, so just doing that each day is a miracle in itself!

1. Do you sing out loud in the car while you are driving? It depends.. I try to sing in the car to Aidan all the time, but when I am by myself.. I very rarely sing out loud.

2. What would you never be caught doing? Honestly, the first thing that comes to my mind is undressing publicly. I am super shy, and hate being naked.. so, naked in public isn't going to happen for me!

3. Will you #2 in a public restroom? If I have to go, I have to go! (I just hope it is a clean bathroom!)

4. Have you ever broken a bone? Yes. My leg when I was 4.. or 5? All I remember, I was at daycare riding a tricycle, and another kid came up behind me & pushed while I was pedaling..
my leg wrapped around the pedal & broke.
..I also remember vomiting on the pediatrician when he "tested" my leg to see if it was broken!

5. Do you prefer cooking or baking? Baking, hands down! I love to bake cookies, and REALLY love to make candy (chocolates, truffles, etc..)
.. I would love to make candy & get paid to do it!
Unfortunately, I don't bake very often because my hubby is weird & doesn't like sweets! :)
