Five Question Friday!

1. Do you sing karaoke? If so, what is your go to song? Uh... no. Well, I have been known to sing drunken karaoke.. you know, the kind where you have had a few too many drinks, and join your friends on stage for a few songs?? It's been awhile since I have done that though! :)

2. What is your favorite coffee drink? I used to have to have cappuccinos, but now I am used to just plain old coffee every morning.. I add creamer & sugar though!

3. If you could choose your own name, what would it be? I wouldn't change my name, I actually really like it. I like that it's not too common, and I just don't have any complaints about it!
Now, my mom once told me that she almost named me Katrina.. I would have definitely gone to change that name asap!

4. Were you ever bullied? I wouldn't say that I was bullied, but I was made fun of in middle school because I was too chicken to date boys.
Looking back, I have no idea why all those girls were wasting so much time with boys in 6th-8th grade..that age seems so young to me now.. I am glad that I was a geek that wasn't too "into" boys yet. You can only be young for so long! :)

5. How often do you eat fast food? Too often, and I need to stop using the convenience of the drive-thru!

first snowman!

Aidan & I have been going a bit stir crazy, so we bundled up today and went outside!
The snow is perfect packing snow right now, so we built a snowman!

I forgot I had my camera on me, I wish I would have taken pictures of Aidan trying to roll a snowball.. it was quite funny!
Oh well.. while Mommy gave our snowman a face, he searched for the perfect sticks for arms..

..then stood back to admire his masterpiece!

Not bad for a first time! :)

Aidan also played in his playhouse, and loved sliding into the snow.. it was almost impossible to get him to come inside!

happy pancake day!

Today was National Pancake Day!
(I had no idea either.. just found out on a whim doing an internet search last night..)
Anyways, Aidan was excited.. it gave us an excuse to make pancakes together for breakfast!

Aidan LOVES to help in the kitchen! His new favorite word is "help".. and I was happy to let him!

Yummy little pancakes!

Little piggy had 5 pancakes! :)

almost forgot!

1. Have you ever hit an animal with your vehicle? Yes, once. It was a stupid raccoon that decided to dart out in front of me at the last minute.. once I heard the thud of hitting him, I cried the whole way home. Poor little guy! :(

2. When you see a string on your clothes, do you pull it off, or cut it off? I'm a puller.. and have never gotten into any trouble by it, haven't ruined any of my clothes.. yet!

3. Did you have your own room, or share a room when you were young? I had my own room, but when I went to my Dad's every other weekend, I would always share a room with my half-sister.. we would stay up all night talking to eachother :)

4. Would you rather wear the same thing for the rest of your life, or eat the same thing for the rest of your life? Well, considering that I can wash these clothes, I would wear the same thing over & over again.. I think that I would go insane having to eat the same meal everyday while I saw others indulge in something different!

5. What was your favorite TV show as a child? My favorite cartoons were Thundercats, The Smurfs & Jem.. my favorite regular show was Punky Brewster! :)

For Valentine's Day, we went to my Dad's for dinner tonight.. it was so nice to be with family!

The dinner table was so pretty, and Aidan loved all of the Valentine's decorations!

Eating chocolate covered strawberries for dessert!

The real fun was watching Aidan play with Grandpa, he always has such a fun time with him!

Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day!
My hubby surprised me with a silver heart necklace & went to church with me this morning.. it was a great day!

Tot School- Letter H

Tot School

We are changing things up a bit for Aidan's Tot School.. instead of a letter a week , we are focusing on a letter for 2 weeks. Aidan has loved all of the activities, but I find it a bit rushed, and want to spend more time on each letter with him!

Here's our 2 weeks of the letter H!

Putting hearts on his alphabet book H.

Aidan loved coloring this Many Colored Hearts printable with Daddy.. each heart was a different color & we made it into a book when he was finished!

Love how hard he concentrated on this!

A heart cut-out & match activity.. I found a whole book full of these cut & paste sheets on clearance at Walmart!

Another big hit this week was his Tag reader!
I ♥ this toy so much!
This was a gift from Aunt Lisa for Christmas, and he is finally starting to get into it! We bought him a new book this week, Cars of course.. so he had to share it with Grammie!

Playing hide & go seek..
although, Aidan just hid.. in the same spot, under the clothes basket!

Aidan helped make Valentine Rice Krispie Treat hearts for Mommy's MOPS group.. he loved shaking the sprinkles on!

I personally tried one, and they were so yummy! Aidan didn't want his, so I ate that one too!

Making a hippo face, although Daddy thinks it looks like a gorilla.. oh yeah.. someone please remind me NEVER to buy generic printer ink again, it is awful!

We ended our letter H weeks with Daddy making hamburgers for lunch after we got home from church!
Don't ya love Aidan's pinky sticking up in the air?
He's sooo proper! :)

Have a great week!

My Friday night= snuggling up in my favorite chair, watching TV with my munchkin & my cat.. life is good! :)

Valentine's Party!

I was so excited for today.. Aidan had his first Valentine's Day party to go to!

Our SAHM's playgroup sponsor is Gymboree.. so, the party was held there & it was a huge hit!
Aidan had so much fun running around & playing, I seriously need to think about signing him up for some more classes there!

We didn't get too many pictures, Tony & I were having too much fun chasing Aidan around! I was so happy that Tony got to leave work early today, as daddies were invited too! :)

In between all of the playing, all of the kids decorated their Valentine bags.. with a bit of help from Mommy!

Aidan was excited to check out his goodies when we got home, I loved all of the little homemade cards!

Aidan loved all of the candy!

Happy Valentine's Day!

5QF!

It's Five Question Friday.. Valentine's Day style! :)

1. What is the one thing your love does for you that you can't live without? Tony is very understanding, and knows that I am in dire need of a break from Aidan once he gets home from work.. so.. he always takes Aidan when he gets home from & I get a breather for a bit!
I love that he is such a great daddy, but most importantly, he is the best thing that has ever happened to me! Love you honey! :)

2. When did you know your love was "the one"? I pretty much knew that I wanted to be with Tony the rest of my life a few months after we began dating. I had never felt so comfortable with anyone, and I felt safe & secure with him in my life.

3. Does your love have a special ringtone on your cell? Uh.. no. I barely use my cell phone, so I just use whatever ringtone came with it. When I do talk to Tony on my cell, it is on the two-way.. you know, direct connect? I am so unaware of the lingo with cellphones these days! :)

4. What are you attracted to most in your special someone? Physically? His eyes. And his eyelashes go on for days.. wish I could trade with him! Our son has inherited his lashes as well! Love his personality. He is pretty laid back, and I wish I could be as easy-going!

5. Did you know when/where he was going to pop the big question? I didn't know where, but I had an idea when.. I saw the jewelry store bag in the backseat of the car, and wasn't supposed to! I don't wear jewelry, so I knew something was up.. and it was nowhere near my birthday.. he proposed the next day. :)

pirate's island!

This past weekend, we went to a birthday party at Pirate's Island, the new indoor water park that is SUPER popular right now!

I was so excited to take Aidan, and had been looking forward to the party all week!

Unfortunately, Aidan wanted nothing to do with the water, and barely even got his feet wet.. we spent most of the time walking around, while Tony & I tried our best to coax him into the kiddie area.. it didn't work.

Getting our feet wet.. surprised that he splashed! :)

Mommy trying to act silly & get Aidan to come join her..
nope, just me looking silly all alone! :)

Aidan kept saying "no wet, no wet!"

Aidan thought Mommy was goofy, and ran away from her all afternoon! :)

Daddy lucked out & finally got Aidan to float with him in the lazy river.. as long as he didn't get wet!

Meanwhile..

I went on the waterslides with Michelle! SO much fun!

We took a bunch of trips on the lazy river together that afternoon.. our little guy barely got his suit wet!

We have another birthday party to go to this weekend at the same place.. hopefully Aidan will change his mind about getting in the water! :)

2/5/10

it's friday!

1. What are you most afraid of? Man, starting out with a super hard question for me! I am terribly afraid of losing loved ones. I have lost a sister to suicide, and a best friend to growing apart.. and each one was extremely painful. I would do just about anything to have my sister Sarah back, and my life still doesn't seem quite the same without my old friend Scott..
I think of them both every. single. day.
I have absolutely NO idea what I would do if I lost anyone else close to me, I know that I can't control these things.. just another reason I am terrified of it! :(

2. Do you use a flat iron or a curling iron? I have used a curling iron for years.. to curl & straighten my hair. I just don't understand how to use flat irons, and always got a weird kink in my hair when I did use them. Now that I have embraced my natural curls, I use a curling iron to curl out any frizzies. :)

3. Hands-free or phone to the ear? Phone to the ear & crink in my neck. I hate talking into thin air, I don't know why.. just do!

4. Do you have a matching bedroom set? Ha! that is funny.. no, we do not have a matching bedroom set. Our dressers are mis-matched & we could care less..!

5. Do you believe in the paranormal? I think that I like to believe in the idea of the paranormal. I love all types of movies that deal with the unexplained.. but I don't think I would ever want to be in contact with anything weird, all of that stuff scares the crap outta me!

Tot School- Letter G

Tot School

Last week was so much fun!
Here's a look into our week, learning about the letter G!

Putting glitter on the G's for his alphabet book! This was NOT a good idea on Mommy's part, there was glitter EVERYWHERE!!

Making a giraffe craft with Daddy.. I got the idea for this craft here. Aidan loves to make fingerprints with stamp pads, so this was right up his alley.

Making goop..
I found this idea the book First Art (love this book!)
I was so excited about making this with Aidan, & thought he would love making a mess with it.. turns out, he was horrified by it, and wanted NOTHING to do with it once I had it all mixed.

Here is Aidan standing far away from the goop, and crying..! :(

So.. we moved to another room and practiced our colors.. I found these clips at the dollar store, and had him attach the clips to the correct cards. He liked this activity. :)

I especially loved his "aha!" moment when he figured out how to attach the clips to the cards.

Gummi-bear sorting! More color practice.. and a bit of snacking too! I don't let Aidan have too much sugar, so this was a treat for him!

We ended the week by making gingerbread cookies!

Aidan loved helping out in the kitchen, and it was hard to pry him away from the rolling pin!

I let him just touch & play before we made cookies..

He rolled the dough so flat, that it mostly stuck to the countertop! My toddler was losing patience by the second.. so, we quickly rolled up the dough & made gingersnaps instead!

As some of you know, Aidan's favorite movie is CARS, and he is obsessed with anything related to that movie. To end our G week, he was given "Guido" as a gift!

Needless to say, he loved it!

Check out Carisa's blog for more Tot School!
