tiny talk tuesday

The other day as Aidan was having a snack of cherry tomatoes.. he suddenly got up out of his chair & ran to get his play goggles...

I asked him what in the world he was doing.. his response was:

"Taytoes keep quirting me in my eye, need my goggles!"

Silly tomatoes, stop squirting Aidan in the eyes! :)

sunflowers!

We "harvested" Aidan's sunflowers a couple weeks ago, but I had to share this picture!

Aren't they huge???
Aidan was SO proud of his flowers, and so excited to set them out for the birds!

I was amazed at how many different types of birds that came to feed from Aidan's flowers, some that we have never even seen in our yard before! It was also fun for us to watch the birds fight over who could hang from the sunflower heads & peck at the seeds..
it kept us entertained & we can't wait to grow more next year! :)

5 Question Friday!

Wow, it's been quite a long time since I have participated in this! Here's for those of you that need some "Theresa-knowledge!"

1. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you? I'd have to say recovering from my c-section. I am a horrible baby when it comes to pain.

2. How much sleep do you get at night? I usually get about 6-7 hours of sleep,
but I am trying to train myself to get to bed earlier!

3. How long did you believe in Santa Claus? How did you find out that he does not exist? I believed in Santa for quite awhile.. maybe til I was 8? I found out that Santa was make-believe when my friend Michelle & I were rummaging through her mom's desk for something & found all of the letters that she wrote to Santa over the years.. along with her baby teeth!!! ...no Tooth Fairy either! It was a bad day for the both of us kids! :)

4. What was the last movie you saw in a theater? Saw this on a whim with the other mommies from my MOPS steering team, it was actually pretty cute! :)

5. What do you wear to bed? I wear a t-shirt & comfy pants or capris..
nothing fancy here!

Halloween

It was hard for us to decide what to do for Halloween this year, most of our friends have children that are much older than Aidan, and Aidan does NOT need an overabundance of candy in the house.. so we were looking for something fun & family friendly to do...
I saw that Verhage Farms had a trunk or treat/fall festival going on the night before Halloween, and we decided to try it out!

Getting ready to get some candy!!!

Isn't that the cutest shark you have ever seen??? :)

I was SO happy that he didn't end up with gobs of candy,
just enough for little Aidan to be happy!
He was even happier when he saw that there were pony rides & games to play!

We also went on a hay ride together,

it was so fun to go out just the 3 of us, and enjoy our little family!

On Halloween, we surprised Grandma by going to her house to visit & Aidan wanted to do some "real" trick or treating.. I wasn't expecting to walk around the neighborhood.. but was so glad that he was having a great time. It was so fun to walk around with my son in the same neighborhood I used to trick or treat in as a kid! :)

When we got home, he HAD to check out all of his candy.. not too bad for a 3 year old!

(..yes, that is a lemon in his candy pile.. Aidan took it from Grandma's, he LOVES lemons!)

pumpkins!

Okay, I know I am extremely late in posting this, but I am trying to catch up here.. trying!

On Mondays I babysit Micah, an awesome 2 year old that Aidan LOVES to play with!

We had to do something outside this day, as it was gorgeous out.. so we had fun with pumpkins!

The boys are obviously too young to carve their own pumpkins, so we made silly pumpkins with Aidan's Potato Head parts!

The boys had so much fun with this!

They were very proud of their pumpkin creations :)

Ta-Da!!!

Yay for Potato Head Pumpkins! :)

The next night, Aidan was bugging Daddy to carve a pumpkin with him.. so they had fun together, while Mommy took pictures :)

Aidan did NOT like the pumpkin goop.. he had fun pretending the lid to his pumpkin was a drum, while Daddy scooped out the pumpkin guts!

(Sorry about the lack of pants.. we're STILL working on potty training here!)

Daddy adding the details,

and Aidan helping out by drawing a nose!

Aidan loved the way his finished pumpkin looked.. he was disappointed that we had to take it outside though, he wanted it in his room! :)

11/8/10

my favorite yearly tradition..

Aidan packed his Operation Christmas Child shoebox last night, it was wonderful watching him carefully pack his box with Daddy, knowing that he was sending a gift to a less fortunate little boy his age somewhere in the world..
there's still time for you to pack one too!

Go here to find a drop off location near you, and be a part of this wonderful ministry!

Happy Birthday Aidan!

I am very slow at posting this,
but our little boy had his 3rd birthday party last weekend!

We had his party at Jungle Joe's, an indoor, inflatable, bouncing kids dream!

Once we got there, Aidan wasted NO time getting on the inflatables!

Here's Aidan, following Mommy up a big slide!
(Sorry about the blurry picture!)

Getting a boost from Grandpa.

He loved this place!

It was so nice to get the cousins together again.. Trent had lots of fun too!

Little Hayley was kinda small for all the fun,
but she still managed tojump & wobble around!
(It's hard to stand up on those things when everyone around you is jumping!)

Making his way through,

and dragging Grandpa on another one!
(Love this picture of my Dad, he was so tired!)

My friend Michelle & her boys were having fun,
love this picture of her too!

Grampie even took some turns on the slides :)

Hayley, getting an extra push..

and making her way through with her Daddy, Uncle Rob!

I decided that it would be fun to race through this obstacle course
with my friend Michelle..

It was WAY harder than it looked!

It was even MORE difficult when Michelle was pulling
on my pant legs, because I was beating her!

Here I am trying to get over the last hill & WIN!

Whew, that was a workout!

Time for cake!

Happy Birthday Munchkin!

He loved opening all of his gifts, he's gonna be SO much fun this Christmas!

Trying to carry out all of his loot.. the bag was bigger than he was!

We had such a fun time at his birthday, and hope that everyone that came did too!

We are especially thankful to Aidan's Aunt Sarah, who took so many great pictures & forwarded them to us.. ours didn't turn out too great! :(

Thank you!!!
