3/31/10

tractor ride!

Tuesday after his nap, Aidan rushed me outside, & we sat in the backyard for a 1/2 hour watching..

..Uncle Shiner plow the fields!
Aidan is seriously in love with all things John Deere, and he was content to sit & watch his great uncle plow
for a L O N G time!

Once he loosened up the dirt so the ride wouldn't be so rough on Aidan, Uncle Shiner came back 'round to pick up his passenger!

I thought that Aidan wouldn't go without me, but he was ready to go.. and didn't care at all that Mommy wasn't going with him!
Love how he is holding onto the seat in this picture!

He doesn't look too excited here, but trust me.. it's all he's been talking about!

I'm guessing he wants to be a farmer! :)

beautiful day!

Aidan & I had a great time outside today..
it was 70 degrees!
We broke out the sidewalk chalk & had some fun!

This wasn't your ordinary sidewalk chalk,
it was 3D chalk!
..check out the SUPER cool glasses!

This stuff did actually appear to be 3-dimensional, so it kept Mommy very entertained while we drew pictures together.
It was a bit windy outside.. but we were loving this beautiful day!

Daddy & Aidan went back outside after dinner & drew Mommy a picture..

..it reads: We ♥ Mommy!
I love you both too! :)

Tot School-Letter J

Finally finished with letter J!

Here's what we've been up to the past few weeks :)

Aidan made a jelly bean J for his alphabet book, I LOVE how he made the dot for the little j a jelly bean!

We also sorted jelly beans by color, although Aidan had more fun scooping & mixing them!

Aidan did quite a few jigsaw puzzles too, Daddy got in on the fun as well!

Our favorite part about the letter J was definitely the printables that I got from Dawn at Our Little Monkeys, they were all John Deere!

Our munchkin is a HUGE John Deere fan, and we played the matching game several times, as well as the do-a-dot & coloring page.

Thanks Dawn, these were very helpful & a HUGE success!

We practiced our jumping skills with the couch pillows..

..and played a bunch of "jungle hide & seek!"

I would hide Aidan's jungle train animals throughout the living room, while he IMPATIENTLY waited for me to call him to come & find them!

He was loving this activity, and we played this quite a bit too!

We wrapped up our study of the letter J with a movie.. The Jungle Book!

first movie!

This morning, we took Aidan to the movies for the first time!
Aidan was so excited all week, as this was his "prize" for doing his chores.. he didn't know what to think of the big "TV" screen at first though!

Watching some previews with Daddy.. love how small he is in the seats!

The local theater here is showing free spring matinees.. perfect for us, since we didn't know if Aidan would sit through a whole movie!
Time for the show!

This movie was SO cute! ..I haven't read the book, but Aidan & I are going to check it out next time we go to the library!
Aidan was very interested in the movie, and his popcorn too!

About an hour into the film, this happened..

Aidan must have gotten this trait from his Great-Grandpa, falling asleep in the middle of a movie!

We'll definitely try going to the movies again, it was fun! :)

1. Did you pass your driver's test on the first try? Nope. I thought I was doing great, then on the way back to the high school, I failed to yield at a blinking red light.. duh! The teacher slammed down on his brake & made me get out of the driver's seat.. and, I got another 2 weeks of driver's training.

2. What is your most embarrassing moment? I had a complicated pregnancy with Aidan, and during one of my stays in the hospital, I was getting a routine ultrasound to see how our little guy was doing.. as Tony & I were looking at the screen in awe over Aidan, my midwife turned to me & smiled a goofy kinda smile, and Tony noticed a weird looking bubble on the screen. So, I asked what it was. She told me that it was gas in my lower intestine,
and that I would soon have to pass it.. and I sure did!
Being pregnant, you have a ton of gas anyway, and I couldn't have controlled it if I wanted to.. but I was mortified to fart during my ultrasound!
Guess I'm glad Tony & my midwife knew it was coming! :)

3. What TV show would you want to be on- Oprah, The Biggest Loser, or What Not to Wear? That's a no-brainer.. fashion help, and a shopping spree?
Sign me up! :)

4. Would you ever get plastic surgery.. and what kind? I don't know, I'd like to say no & be completely happy with myself.. but if money were no object,
I'd go for the lipo! Stupid flabby belly! :)

5. What are your favorite jeans to wear? I ♥ Levi's, 525.

lil' helper

I love it that Aidan likes to help with everything now.. he's really got a passion for vacuuming!

.. he "helped" for a good 20 minutes & did a great job!

hiding..

Aidan's been pretending to hide a lot lately, and loves playing hide & go seek with Daddy..

I think one day soon he'll figure out that we can see him very clearly in his "hiding" spots! :)

silly sleeper

I checked in on Aidan the other night,
and here is what I found!

-little guy is sleeping upside down..
- has 4 stuffed animals in bed with him, and never usually sleeps with any!
- 2 books by his pillow
-..what in the heck, there's a beach ball in bed with him!

What a goof!
He must be getting out of bed after we tuck him in, to grab some things to join him in his bed.. love the beach ball though! :)

5 Question Friday!

It's Friday, and I am actually on time with answering the questions!

Here we go!

1. Have you ever had a celeb sighting? The closest I have ever come to a celebrity sighting was a few years ago in Chicago.. I was on a shopping trip with my step-mom & as we were crossing the street, I looked up & saw Stedman.. you know, Stedman Graham.. Oprah's boyfriend! I know he's not technically a celebrity, but hey, he's with Oprah.. it's gotta count for something! :)

2. What temperature do you keep your house? It varies, I like it cold.. we never go above 70.

3. Do you notice dust at other people's homes? Uh, no. Do people actually look for dust while they are visiting other homes? If any of you do, you can come to my home & see my dust on display.. I try to dust weekly, but I tend to forget! :)

4. What's the worst job you've ever had? Hmm.. I would have to say working for Parchment Yard & Garden when I was a senior in high school. The pay was terrible, and we usually had to go out on landscape jobs that were very labor intensive.. it seems like it was always super hot on those days too. I remember praying on the way to work that we would be slow & I would get to stay at the shop & sell flowers all day :)

5. What is your most sentimental possession? I'd have to say my journals. I started journaling as a freshman in high school, and have a little library of books that I wrote continuously in until Tony & were married in 2005.
..guess once I found what I was looking for, I didn't feel the need to journal anymore! Love you Tony! ♥

Looking through my pictures tonight, I found it funny that last year, on the same day, Aidan & I were doing exactly the same thing!

Our little boy has changed so much in a year.. I could hardly believe it!

it's coming...

..Spring that is!

Aidan & I had so much fun being outdoors this past weekend.. Aidan was excited when he found the first crocus coming up in the yard!

We also brought out his little bike, and found out that he still can't reach the pedals! Oh, well.. that didn't stop him from riding, we couldn't get him to come back inside!

He also took a long break from the bike to ride on Grandma Mezo's cows.. and was yelling "moo!" in their ear! :)

five question.. Sunday!

Okay, so I have been a bit lazy about my blog posting.. sorry!
Our little munchkin has been sick, fighting off a nasty cold & I just haven't been on the computer too much.. it's been a nice break.. just hope Aidan gets better soon!

Here we go!

1. How much time do you spend on the computer a day? On a normal day.. I would say a few hours.. probably 2. I usually always wait until Aidan goes to bed to check my emails, and catch up on my favorite blogs.. I have tried to limit myself, because I have been known to stay up all night on the computer! :(

2. Will you pay for your children's college, or raise them to pay for their own way? You know, I haven't really thought much about this at all.. I know that we should! We have some money being saved for Aidan every month, but I know that it would more than likely not be enough when the time comes! I would like to think that we would help him the best that we can when that time comes!

3. Have you ever been in a car accident? Yep. I have been in a few fender-benders, but the worst accident I got into was when I let a friend of mine drive my car.. I guess he was trying to be cool or something, was going way too fast & ended up getting into an accident that totaled my Blazer.. man, I loved that Blazer.. thank goodness for full-coverage insurance!

4. What is your favorite book? I have a couple.. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers.. and of course all the Twilight books by Stephenie Meyer.. I know they are just sappy teen fiction, but they were SO fun to read!

5. Do you make your bed everyday? Uh.. no. I try to sometimes though! I know it drives my mom nuts that I don't make my bed, and I never have.. although, when we are expecting guests, I'll make up the bed & bring out the fancy pillow shams & it does look nice! :)

Tot School- Letter I

It has been awhile, and things are finally getting back to (somewhat) normal around here.. here's Aidan learning about the letter I :)

Putting together ice cream cones for his ice cream book.. LOVE the upside down one!

Making a Letter I collage & STILL loving that glue stick!

We talked about islands for a little bit, while Aidan colored a picture.. Grammie & Grampie went on a vacation to the islands of Hawaii this past week!

I FINALLY got Aidan a set of Do-A-Dots.. he LOVES them!
I printed off several sheets for him, and he devoured this activity!

We played with lots of puzzles this week..

Catching up on his alphabet sticker book.. our kid loves stickers!

Tony & I recently introduced a chore chart to Aidan this week & he absolutely loves it, and it is no longer a struggle to get him to brush his teeth, or pick up his toys!

Aidan calls this his "work" :)
