butter-aholic

We have to keep a close eye on the butter around here.. we have a toddler that LOVES to eat it!

I thought it was a one time thing last week.. but while making breakfast this morning, Aidan wanted a taste, and while preparing stir fry for dinner tonight.. he took a huge bite from the stick of butter I was using!

I have no idea how he can eat plain 'ol butter..


..but he loves it!

Dad Life

the zoo!

I am SO happy that we finally got a chance to take Aidan to the zoo for the first time.. and he got to enjoy it with his grandparents & cousins too!


We started out the trip looking at a few vultures.. aren't they lovely?


The boys liked checking out the prairie dogs..


The main attraction at Binder Park Zoo is the giraffes, here's Aidan & grandma waiting for the tram to take us to Africa! :)


Aidan was so excited to see the giraffes..


I was excited that my Dad took the afternoon off to spend it with us!

He would throw the lettuce leaves at them & the food would fall to the ground.. not very convenient since, you know, giraffes are kinda tall .. oops.

Daddy helped Aidan feed them, the giraffes have super long tongues!


The zoo recently celebrated the birth of two baby giraffes, it was fun to watch them.

We saw tons of animals, Aidan was running from each exhibit.. he was loving the zoo!

The Children's Zoo was a huge petting zoo, Aidan loved the little goats! here he is trying to push one of them.. he was saying "go, goat!"


Tons of peacocks wandering around.. loved this white one.


There were lots of photo op stops, and we took advantage of most of them.. here's Grandma with her boys!


It is so great that my nephews are in town for the week.. Jackson & Sammy are so fun!
Sammy (the youngest) is quite the character, I loved all of his cheesy facial expressions in all of my pictures...

They're coming over to play with Aidan tomorrow,

parade!

This past Saturday was Greater Galesburg Days in our hometown, Aidan had been looking forward to the parade all week!

Aidan LOVED everyone in the parade throwing candy at him!
We had a hard time keeping him out of the street to get the stray pieces of candy, he'd say "but candy, Mama!"


After the parade, we wandered over to the petting zoo, Aidan loved all of the animals!


I liked the chickens & I'm still trying to convince Tony to let us get some of our own! (not likely)


They had alligators & snakes too.. but Aidan was only interested in this turtle..


kinda hesitant at first, but he touched it! :)


It was a great day!

week 52.. done!

Man, I feel like a HUGE weight has been taken off of me..
I am SO happy to have this book done, ordered & off my to-do list! :)

week 51!

Deep Fried Pickle Project!

The other morning, Aidan & I met our playgroup at the Celery Flats for a kids concert! We listened to the Deep Fried Pickle Project, and they were great! Well.. great for kids songs.. they sang about some pretty silly stuff..


.. and Aidan loved it! Not that great of a picture, but he was dancing & jumping around everywhere! I couldn't get him to sit down! :)


Not to happy about sitting for a pic with Mommy..

After the concert, we walked around & finished our picnic lunch. Aidan spotted something behind the pond & HAD to go check it out!


He has also been playing very well without Mommy at playgrounds.. and making me nervous about climbing everything!
He was very sure about this way to get up the structure & told me promptly to "go away!" :)


I kinda miss him not wanting me to be by his side every second..
He is growing up so fast!

our Monday

I had fun watching Micah on Monday.. Aidan was so excited to spend time with him again.. they both got along so well!
It was another warm day, so we broke out the water guns.. the boys had tons of fun!


They chased each other around for awhile..


..then they came to get me!
Mommy got soaked :)

After tucking Aidan into bed tonight, I peeked back in a few moments later to find his nose in his favorite book.. talking to himself too, I think he was trying to read!

week 50!

weeks 48 & 49

1. What do you think makes a good friend, or friendship? Someone that I can be 100 % MYSELF around.. that I can confide in & trust, that gets my sense of humor & can be goofy around.. love you Michelle!! :)

2. What is the last thing you bought & later regretted? Oh man, I had an impulse buy a few days ago & am now regretting it..shoulda just saved the money!
I bought an iPod Touch.. do I need it? NO. Do I want it?.. YES!
I can't wait for the UPS guy to deliver it! :)

3. Have you ever had a prank played on you? Nope & let's hope it stays that way!

4. What is your favorite theme park? I've only been once, but I LOVE Walt Disney World. The Magic Kingdom is.. well, magical & I hope that we can someday take Aidan!

5. Have you ever seen someone else give birth? Yep.. I watched my friend Shannon give birth to her daughter Mackenzie.. I was only 20, and nowhere near wanting any kids yet.. so it was interesting! :)

weeks 46 & 47!

5 Question Friday!

So.. I haven't participated in 5QF for the past 2 weeks..
I have been lazy, what can I say!? :)

Here's to trying to stick with it again!

1. If you could go back to college, would you change your major? Or, if you were to go to college, what major would you choose? Oh, man.. I wish I could redo my whole college experience! My major was graphic design, and I definitely would have continued to pursue that if I had finished..sadly, I chose the partying route, and only stayed in school for 2 years. I would love to go back one day & get a degree though! :)

2. What do you love most about your home? I absolutely love the fact that we are living in the house that Tony grew up in. I know that it is on the small side.. but we are so comfortable here!

3. What type of books do you like to read? I love a good fiction book, but I mostly find myself reading non-fiction. I love to learn about anything & everything that I can.. especially parenting books at the moment..
potty training is in our very near future!

4. What is the grossest thing you have ever eaten? Grits, hands down.

5. If you had to be a character on a TV show, whom would you be? Seriously? I have no clue.. I don't watch that much TV anymore. Well, I do watch toddler TV sometimes.. I guess if I had to choose amongst those characters, I would be Toot from Toot & Puddle..
