our lil' wobbly walker!

Aidan has finally mastered the art of walking! He's a bit wobbly at times, or he'll just savor standing in one place for awhile too.. but he is preferring walking over crawling. He's just growing up too fast!

Here are some recent photos from all of our Christmastime fun! We had such a good time visiting with family at all of stops we made.. Aidan was super excited to see everyone!

Aidan is walking!!.. well, with some help that is! He was so cute taking a walk around the restaurant with Grammie & Trent. Pretty soon, he'll have walking mastered, and we'll all have to watch out!

here's some holiday cheer!

I was feeling a bit thrifty last week, and decided to have a Christmas photo shoot in our living room, to try and get a good holiday photo of Aidan.. I went to the dollar store and got some cheap ornaments, threw a white sheet on the floor, and voila!.. an instant photo studio!

I was so proud of myself.. with Tony's help, I took about 50 pictures.. but our little stinker would NOT look at the camera! Oh well, I thought this one was the best..

.. now if i could only get him to look at the camera & smile!!! :)

seeing Santa..

Tonight, we went to Galesburg for the winter festival.. Aidan loved watching the parade, and seeing Santa!

Santa was actually Aidan's Uncle Bill.. so I HAD to get a million pictures! I love this one the best.. looks like he is telling Santa what he wants for Christmas! :)

1 teething baby + 1 very jealous baby = a great photo op for my hubby, who was laughing hysterically at me!

Micah was teething pretty bad, so he had lots of my attention today.. which made Aidan extremely clingy and super jealous! I was so thankful that Tony had the day off today.. my two hands just weren't enough!

like father like son..

Aidan doesn't usually sit still for very long.. but when I looked over at him tonight, he was sitting perfectly still on the couch next to Daddy watching TV! It was so funny to me, seeing my two boys looking exactly the same! ..now, if I could only get that pacifier out of Aidan's mouth!.. :)

first snow!

Aidan & I went outside for some fun in the snow yesterday.. it was his first time! When I sat him down in it, he didn't know what to do and got kind of fussy.. but when I sat down next to him and played he was great! (although, I was rather soaked.. I don't own any snow pants!)

I took him out to his picnic table to play.. he loved pushing the snow off the table, and was even eating it! :)

13 months old!

Aidan is growing up so fast, and Tony & I have noticed some little changes in Aidan since he has turned 1..
he's "talking" more & more,
pointing at anything & everything,
crawling at super-fast speed..

I must be easliy entertained, because when I saw this.. I almost fell off my chair laughing!
I can seriously see one of our cats doing this exact same thing.. and I can hear Aidan giggling at it too! :)

new tree!

Aidan was really surprised looking up at the new Christmas tree today.. we decided to put it up early.. without any ornaments, to see how Aidan would react to it.. and to see if he would try to play with it! (he didn't.. he barely even noticed it was there!) I wasn't ready with my camera, but I did get this blurry picture of his staring up at it.. he had a huge smile on his face afterwards.. I can't wait for his first "real" Christmas! :)

one year pics

I FINALLY got around and had Aidan's one year pics taken! Here's my favorites.. wish Tony didn't have to go to work that day, I didn't know that they'd take some with me in it too!

aidan's first parade!

On Saturday, we took Aidan downtown for the holiday parade.. it was super cold, but so much fun! Aidan loved looking at all of the sights..

Aidan watched the parade with his Aunt Shannon too.. her daughter Mackenzie was in the parade as a baton twirler, she was so cute!

All in all, it was a great morning and I love being able to do fun stuff like that with our little family! Aidan has the sniffles right now, hopefully he didn't catch too much of a cold :(

Today, Aidan and I stopped at Milham Park on the way home from doing some shopping.. it was his first time there, and I couldn't pass it up since it was such a nice day out! He loved crawling around the big playsets, but his favorite part was..

fun fall day :)

It has been SO beautiful out the past few days! Yesterday was no exception, and Aidan and I took advantage of it! After coming home from going to vote early in the morning, we played outside and rolled around in the leaves together.. I didn't remember how much fun it was :)
I took so many pictures, but the little stinker would NOT smile for me! This one's still my favorite though..

new friend

Today I started my new extremely part-time job.. I am watching a cute little boy named Micah, who is 6 months old. I say "extremely" part-time, because it is only on an as-need basis, but it was so much fun today with the two boys!

Aidan wasn't too sure of Micah at first, but after awhile, he started to share his toys.. and his pacifier too! (silly Aidan!)

It will be a great opportunity for Aidan when I do get to watch Micah.. Aidan doesn't have too many little friends that are close to his age! :)

SO behind...

It frustrates me that I have fallen so behind on my scrapbooking.. I have about 4 projects going, and NO time to do any of them! I did however, whip up some pages of Aidan the other night.. here they are!

Halloween!

For Halloween this year, Aidan dressed up as a little skeleton! He was so cute, and it was such a beautiful night for his first trick or treating experience!
We went to our church, which had their annual "trunk"-or-treating, and Aidan loved looking at all of the kids & costumes!
Later, we took Aidan to the park in Richland, which had a TON of cute kid activities, and a petting zoo too! He loved all of the animals, and was a very tired boy when we got home..
Before getting him ready for bed, he was really fascinated when I dumped out all of the candy that he had collected.. he did pretty good for a first-timer!! :)

cranky baby!!!

I guess a day like this had to come eventually.. Aidan usually is a pretty happy little guy.. but today, he was SO cranky! ALL day long, NOTHING was going to make my baby happy! (I just love his little cranky face!)
Hopefully it was just a one day deal, and that he's not coming down with anything.. (he hasn't been sick at all yet!) .. I guess we'll see in the morning!

1 year old!!

.. at one year old, you have cried, babbled, rolled over, smiled, cried some more, crawled, talked, stood up, and have completely stolen my heart!

It was so fun to take Aidan to pick out some pumpkins.. we were the only ones there, so I just let him run (..well, crawl) loose! He was all over these little pumpkins, just the right size for him.

birthday MESS!!!

So, for Aidan's real birthday.. we let him dig into a little cake of his own! My sister-in-law, Linda, saved the very top part of my baby shower cake, to be used for Aidan's first birthday! I thought it would taste terrible, but it tasted just like it did a year ago! Anyways..

..he dug in slowly at first, then as Tony and I were cheering him on, he started to have fun with it! Maybe a little too much fun! By the time Aidan was done with his cake, there was frosting and cake crumbs everywhere!

I didn't mind though.. the look on Aidan's face was priceless, and I loved seeing him so happy!

birthday party!

Aidan had such a good time at his little birthday party! I was actually surprised, thinking that he would get fussy, or tired.. but he really seemed to love all the attention! Aidan is truly blessed, he had so many people at his party that love and care about him! Happy birthday little munchkin, we love you!! :)

We took Aidan out tonight to see some pumpkins, he loved it! He was climbing all over them, and also trying to eat them.. he was such a goof.
He liked watching his buddies, Jeffy & Kyle run around and play.. next year, he'll be able to join them!
Next weekend, we're gonna carve our pumpkins.. here's a cool site, you can carve one too!

I LOVE this picture of Aidan, he was so excited to find another suckie laying around, that he had trouble deciding which one to keep in his mouth! Aidan's suckie is his true love, and I think Tony & I are going to have a real struggle to get him to let go of it!

One great thing about technology these days, is that you can stay in touch with old friends.. I found out that Nicole, my friend from high school, knits these super cute hats.. and I HAD to get one for Aidan!

practice run..

I have never frosted cupcakes using icing bags before, so I wanted to practice before Aidan's big day.. I needed a test subject, and Aidan was more than willing to help! What a mess!!! I had so much fun watching him squish the frosting around, he was having a blast.. what a goof!

Aidan's new ride!

Aidan LOVES his new car from Aunt Michelle! It is so cool that this little car used to be Jeffy's, and that Aidan can get a bunch of use out of it! Tony likes to push him around the house, and Aidan squeals and giggles.. it is so fun to watch him.!

Sadly, we only had one lone pumpkin from our garden this year.. but it was Aidan's first pumpkin! He was very curious about it, he's never seen one before! Tony & I can't wait for Halloween, and to take Aidan out for some fun. Here's a cool game that I found, have fun..

Every month, I take a picture of Aidan in the same chair & onesie.. to show how big he is getting.. well, he was not too cooperative with me today, and did NOT want his picture taken!
I think that he had more fun rolling around, and I knew that picture time was over when he started to climb the chair!! :)

first haircut!

Aidan got his first haircut today! He was so good, and hardly took any notice to his Aunt Linda cutting his hair at first.. then he knew something was up, and was kinda squirmy! Tony and I were so proud of him though, he didn't whine or cry at all!

This is by far my favorite picture of Aidan, so I had to dedicate a whole page to it! Just seeing his cute little face makes me smile! :)

little camper

We went camping with our families for Labor Day weekend.. Aidan was SO good, and loved all of the people! He was crawling all over, and had fun swimming too..his Grammie also bought him his first wagon, I had fun taking him for wagon rides and he seemed to really like it!

new playset

Aidan got a new playset last week from Michelle, that her boys weren't using anymore.. Aidan is a bit small for it right now, but he loves to crawl around on it, and pull himself up on the little bridge! We are so thankful that she gave it to him and he is gonna be ALL over it this time next year!

I thought I would have Aidan try to stand up to play today.. although he was a bit wobbly, he loved it! Later this afternoon, he even pulled himself up to stand all by himself.. I was such a proud mommy! :)

I figured it would be fun to try and let Aidan feed himself today.. the looks I got were hilarious! Like, "what's this?".. and "what am I supposed to do with this thing.. isn't this your job?"
With a little help, he finally understood the concept of.. the fork.

Nothing much is going on so far
this week.. Aidan and I have been kinda sick, so we haven't been up to much!

Tony is taking the end of the week off, and we hope to take Aidan on his first trip to the zoo if the weather cooperates!
